New Chord Shapes

The cousin of Em : E and E7 . For basic beginner application, they are often interchangeable in key of C major.

Em -> E -> E7 transformation, one note at a time!

The sibling of G : Gm7 and Gm

The trick is to barre all strings on 3rd fret, then add note, one by one.

The chord Gm7 is often used in conjunction with C7 to create a smooth transition to F major chord, eg. *”chord progression” of Gm7->C7->F. This is called a 2-5-1 (ii-V-I) progression: Gm7 (2), C7(5) , F(1).

*Chord Progression -> The the sequential flow of chords
